In the case of Huawei devices and accessing the PRC, the Quiply app cannot be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
If you want to install the Quiply employee app on a Huawei device or if you are in the PRC, please use the APK installation file.
For users of the "Quiply" employee app (Essential variant), you can download the APK installer file here in the Help Center - this is especially necessary if you are installing the app for the first time:
APK-Installer file Quiply App (Essential)
Note for users of their own company app (branded app, professional version): If you are installing the app for the first time, ask your app-admin to provide you with the current file.
How to access the current installation file in your app
You can also find the current installation file in your app under "My space" > "App installation" - if you have already installed the app, you can download the latest version of the app here after each new release.
Please note that the app is not automatically updated with a new app version. After each release, you will find the current version of the APK file in "My space".
Install APK files on Android
Option 1: For Android devices with Android version lower than 8.0
Preparation: Adjust security settings
Before you are allowed to install APK files on your Android device, you need to adjust some settings:
- To do this, open the settings on your device.
- Under "General" look for "Security" and open it.
- Now find the "Unknown Sources" option and enable it. Now you can install apps (APK files) that are not from the Play Store. After installation, you can disable the option again.
Option 2: For Android devices with Android version 8.0 or higher
Preparation: adjust security settings
- To do this, open the settings on your device.
- Under "Biometrics and security" look for the menu item "Install unknown apps". In the list shown, you can see for each installed app whether it allows installation from unknown sources or not.
- Select your preferred browser through which the APK file will be downloaded in the next step. In this case it is "Chrome".
Installation of APK files
Once you have made this previous setting, you can continue with the installation:
- The first thing you need to do is download the APK to your device. Alternatively, you can also transfer the APK file from your computer to your mobile device via a USB cable, but this process is very cumbersome.
- Now run the APK file by clicking on it. The downloaded files can be found under Download.
- Now you only have to confirm the installation once more and then the app will be installed.
After you have agreed to the installation with "install", the app will be installed.
Note: If you want to import an update for the externally installed APK file, this does not work automatically. To do this, you must download and install the update manually.
